NTNU has a main profile in science and technology, a variety of programmes of professional study, and great academic breadth that also includes the humanities, social sciences, economics, medicine, health sciences, educational science, architecture, entrepreneurship, art disciplines and artistic activities.<\/p>\n<p>NTNU has eight faculties, the University Museum and University Library, 42 000 students and 7400 full-time equivalent employees.<\/p>\n<p>NTNU is committed to innovative education, especially increased use of learning methods with active student involvement and digitalization.<\/p>\n<p>NTNU has four strategic areas of research in 2014\u20132023: sustainability, energy, oceans, and health. The university is also the host or partner for 35 large research centres.<\/p>\n<p>Some 9 per cent of NTNU\u2019s students are international and we have a wide international network.
